"Monumental in Nature" is another of my Canyonlands series from Utah. I say series, because I plan on painting more of them and I already have! (See Monumental Experience, Reaching Beyond, Just Gossiping, Last Light in Moab Valley). I love using a very limited palette to achieve all these red rocks colors and the muted tones that go back and back into the distance! And the light and shadows are fun, too, on these very challenging paintings. I'll be starting another large one after Christmas.
