Iris Fancy

I started a background for this painting as a class demonstration several years ago on how to do the background first in a floral then draw the flowers into it and let the background merge and run through the flowers. I ended up with a lot of backgrounds I liked, especially since I did my online workshop, "Go with the Flow," (see my Workshop page), so I decided to start finishing some of them! I used a lot of quinacridone red, magenta and cobalt blue on this one and was happy with the results. This is painted on Arches 300 pound paper with transparent watercolor, as I usually do.
