"Waiting for Evening"

This was a scene almost at sunset time about an hour outside of Moab, Utah. We went through there on the way back from my show in Oregon, because I had never been to Arches National Park. I loved the long shadows on the mesas, and the one on the right accented the striking lights on my center of interest. My favorite part was painting back into the shadow to bring out the rocks, which is detail that you might not be able to see in a small picture like this.
