Palo Duro Canyon in Canyon, TX, has become one of my favorite places to paint. This was a tough one, as they all are. I had to get rid of a tree after I had completely painted it in, because it was too distracting to the scene. I left the "remnants" of the other dead trees because they really added to the whole feel. In this painting I was trying to get the feel of really going back in space in the canyon. I love this place. I have met my match, I think.
