"Roses and Lace"

For this still life I put three things together that I like most - yellow roses are my favorite, plus I've always loved this lace napkin and the ginger jar I recently inherited. The biggest challenge for me was to paint the lace loosely enough so that it didn't distract at all. This meant a lot of soft edges and not making the cloth behind the lace openings too dark.
