"River Rocks"

I painted this one morning on the Big Thompson River in Rocky Mountain National Park on Bear Lake Road, just past Moraine Park. This is one of my favorite places to paint, out of any wind and off the road enough so that all I hear is the sound of the river while I paint. The challenge was, of course, the water, and to make it look like it was flowing! I'm practicing a lot on this, and enjoying every minute of it.
