"Quiet Swim at Lily Lake" Oil on Gessoed Masonite While on a walk around Lily Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, we saw some Canada Geese in the marshy area by the lake that was made from the melting snow. (First off, you're right - these are not Canada Geese). I'd left the camera in the car, as it was threatening to rain, but just as we saw the geese, the sun came out. After I walked back to get the camera, the Canada Geese had been joined by some mallards. My challenge here was to subdue the five million shining grasses in the late afternoon light to make the mallards the "stars." Image Size 12 x 24 © Copyright 2010 Cecy Turner
