I painted this from a plein air study I did in Rocky Mountain National Park this past fall on a morning when they were doing some controlled burns in the park. This gave everything a pink "haze" and I just had to capture it. The friend I painted with that morning was visiting from Granbury, TX, and I think I was responsible for just about getting us blown off the mountain while we were trying to do our paintings! The wind really came up, and we had to quit just before we finished.
