"Looking Through Aspens - Many Parks Curve"

Plein Air Oil on Linen on Panel

I found this spot on a gray day in Rocky Mountain National Park on "Many Parks Curve." I was trying to take some pictures of the mountains, and these trees were in the way. My husband suggested that I paint the mountains looking through the trees, and he had a great idea there! I tried to portray the trees being right up in my face, which they were, and, although they were aspens, they were darker than anything else around on that gray day.
