"Fall Taking Hold Near Endo Valley"

Plein Air Oil on Gessoed Masonite

A friend of mine and I painted here, "just around the corner" from Endo Valley in Rocky Mountain National Park. We had stopped here in the morning, but after dragging all our painting gear out, we heard an elk bugeling just up the hill and the sound got closer. We were a little spooked and went somewhere else to paint, then returned in the afternoon to these beautiful aspens. The late afternoon shadows were beautiful.
