"Early Evening Calm"

I originally went to this location in Rocky Mountain National Park to finish another painting that I had started when the light "went away," and it started raining! I definitely couldn't finish the sunset scene I had started, so as I was leaving I turned around and decided to paint these mountains in the rain. However, I sat in the car to paint them. I loved the softness of the whole scene and had to keep lightening the mountains several times to get the effect I wanted.
