"Backlit Rocks Near Sheep Lakes"

This was painted just down the road from the Fall River entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a little windy, and a fellow painter had told me this was a protected place to paint, down by the Fall River. She was right, and I was attracted by the sliver of light catching the tops of the rocks. The light coming right at me also made the distant mountain look blue-purple.
